About Linda

Linda is a Research Assistant at Goshen and a graduate student from the Sociology Department at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Diversity and Social Justice, Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice, and minored in Spanish. Her educational background consists of exploring language's social influences on immigration communities, policies, and procedures in the St. Louis area. Since 2020, Linda has been working as a suicide crisis intervention specialist at a behavioral health organization located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

Linda has been trained and allowed to explore multiple ways to learn how to communicate more open-mindedly and impactfully to deliver successful interventions. Over time, she has been involved in some research projects for the crisis center to assist people experiencing a mental health or natural disaster crisis. Since Linda has a mental health background, she has been dedicating her time and graduate research to learning the types of resources or education that are being provided to minority communities to end the stigma revolving around mental health.
